Epson ET-2650 In 2026
THE ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER SCANNER COPIER
By far the best value for money gadget/device I've spent money on in the past decade is my printer. It's an all-in-one printer-scanner-copier that was designed to be very economical and cater to high volume personal use (family needs) or small businesses. For many years those people would have had to opt for laser printers to cope with the volume of printing due to the high cost of ink cartridges.
The printer ink business is one of the biggest scams in the history of consumerism - that and the coffee market. That's a different post for a different day.
Anyhow, my Epson ET-2650 which I bought nearly a decade ago is still kicking. It's all I've need for all my scanning, printing and copying needs. I'n that time I've only refilled the ink once! I had to fork out a little more than average up front when I purchased the printer, which is now discontinued and replaced by more modern versions, but the running cost has more than made up for it multiple times over. There is a negligible compromise in quality that I'm sure has been gotten rid of in the more modern iterations, but, again, it's not noticeable when used as a home or small business machine.
It was on this machine that I documented thousands of paper documents that were taking up so much space in my house by scanning them all into one USB thumb drive. I can't tell you what a relief that was after the project. Those papers are now forever available to me forever and are easy to locate by simple searching for phrases. Not only did I create a nice archival technique in the name, but it seems the software also performed some OCR (optical character recognition) scanning and indexed all the text and made it all searchable. Even hand-written stuff is searchable.
As I mentioned in the video, this is one of the best things I've ever spent money on and I plan to use it till it breaks :)
Peace & Love,
