Mass adoption is complicated, even for huge brands like bitcoin, but every step made to improve adoption counts.
I don't know where was I, or rather why I didn't see this on my feed until today, but we have a big event and contest that is aimed at onboarding new people on Steem in a short time.
This onboarding contest is organized by the project, and supported by a number of prominent steemians and businesses on Steem.
Here's where you can read the full rules of the contest, if you are interested:
https://steemit.com/contest/@steemonboarding/contest-or-operation-mass-adoption-or-2-000-steem-in-prizes
As expected, prizes for the winners will make the effort to bring people in worth it. And they might be growing. And that is great!
How about the new steemians brought onboard this way, do they get any special treatment?
Few of the new steemians which respect the rules of the contest might also get lucky and get a full upvote from a whale (or an orca). That rarely if ever happens to introduction posts on Steem.
And... since I haven't had a giveaway for May yet, I thought this is a good opportunity for me to contribute...
I will check out the #newonsteem posts and will offer 3 delegations of 50 SP for a month during the next few days. If I like how this is going, I will offer 3 more delegations to such new authors using this tag in June, before the onboarding contest is over. In total we talk of 300 SP delegated for a month, 50 SP for each new steemian.
By the way, the rules of the contest say that those who spam the tag will be flagged, so don't do it without reason.
Good luck!
