Nearly 2,000 prisoners have escaped from prisons in Nigeria following a gun attack, according to a BBC report. The gunmen reportedly had rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns, explosives and rifles.
The BBC reported on Tuesday that the attackers blew up the administrative block of the prison in the southeastern city of Overi. At the same time he used explosives to enter the prison. Overi is about 400 km southeast of Lagos, the largest city in Nigeria.
