Ironically, the house of Hades is quite fun. There are well-written side characters, the inn, the music is playing, and there is also a three-headed dog known from mythology, with whom we can have fun. It is not the worlds we are trying to overcome in order to get out of Hell. It's not that cozy there anymore. It's a real… hell where it's not hard to die.
Our hero's hellish ordeal consists of only four worlds. Some will say a lot, others that it is not enough. I definitely belong to the latter group, due to the fact that Hades is a hell of a good and addictive game. In fact, the small number of worlds is the only downside of this title.
Each of the worlds is divided into several (7-8) randomly generated locations. At the end of each of them, a boss fight awaits us, which is not an easy one. Failure hurts, but the one who rose from his knees is stronger than the one who gave up.
An interesting solution used in the game is the ability to choose your own path. Usually, locations end with a choice of doors to get the treasure behind. What exactly? We know about it before entering the location. Basically, at the beginning, it is worth choosing the door with the keys hidden behind it. They allow us to unlock new weapons and skills. It is worth spending these few hours of fun collecting them - the weapons obtained thanks to them will be useful in later approaches.
The gameplay system itself is simple and does not require complicating the fun. The gameplay is fast. To be effective, it must be based primarily on dodging, and then attack. The combat system is very dynamic, but also quite diverse. All thanks to weapons (of which there are six, and my favorite is the shield) as well as upgrades and modifiers. The game offers quite a lot of variety in this regard, because we have no influence on the bonuses that the gods of Olympus will send us, who keep our side and cheer the hero on his way to the surface.
Graphically, Hades looks as it should. In fact, it's hard for me to imagine this game in a different graphic design. The one chosen by the studio perfectly reflects the nature of the production and its atmosphere.
Although I am not a fan of the genre to which Supergiant's game belongs, I must admit that Hades is one of the best games I have played this year. You can proudly place her next to such Returnal and be happy like a child when you manage to defeat the last boss.
