It's a slow process 🐌
As I mentioned before I get anxious during january and february. It doesn't help at all, but what can I say. All I gotta do is keep updating and polishing until this project is finished.
Keeping yourself motivated is always difficult, but usually watching other indie games and the developers help me get inspired and continue working.
Added 2 small updates for today.
- Jumping kick
In my first early prototype, many of you pointed out that the player didn't have a running attack so I added one. I'm also thinking about having 2 different buttons (maybe left click punch and right click kick) instead of having a single attack button (currently enter). I think it might help add another layer and challenge as well as prevent keyboard malfunction when you press too many keys at the same time. Let me know what you think.
- Stomp
Certain enemies will require you to carefully time your slide because if you don't, they'll stomp on your head/stomach. I got the inspiration from pride, where mauricio shogun rua used to soccer kick everybody and brutally knock them out.
I don't have the same animations and brutality, but I'm happy that the basic mechanics are there. I'll keep polishing so it'll improve.
As usual, I'll end on a positive note. VERY positive this time because I had some awesome pork and soju last night with my wife.
