Final Fantasy VII Remake is the next major Final Fantasy game. It'll be an episodic project which expands on the events of the original FFVII!
Hi all, is here again! It's been over a month since my last post and I'm glad my returning post is about the amazing remake of my favorite Final Fantasy VII.
Yesterday in E3 Square Enix had revealed a new trailer for FFVIIR. They revealed it's release date (03 March 2020!) They also talked about its gameplay.
The remake will be action/tactical hybrid where you can:
Attack, Dodge and Block in Real Time! Build up your ATB gauge which can be used for special moves and items.
Tactical Mode: Special moves and items are used from a menu. The battle slows down as you navigate the menu.
Shortcuts: Those who want more action and real time battling can assign special moves into shortcut buttons for fast use!
Switch between characters on the fly: the AI controls the characters you don't play as.
While it's shown from older trailers that FFVII Remake will be more action based than the turn based system of the original. It's the first time they go into this much detail.
The battle system shown in the trailer reminds me of Crisis Core's battle system that's more action based than the original FFVII. It also have some similarities with Final Fantasy XII which makes me think if they're going to implement a system similar to gambits in FFVIIR.
The game is also 2 Blu-ray disks big! That's almost the size of Red Dead Redemption 2!
The only disappointment I have is that the first episode will focus only on Midgar city (it takes 5-6 hours on average in the original.) But they're expanding on the story so I hope we get at least 20 hours of content.
