Ahoy! This weekend the All-Hands Rocket Retreat event has started. With the event Salandit and Salazzle, the Toxic Lizard Pokémon, make their debut. Salandit has been added to the 12 km Eggs (only those obtained since the start of the event and will of course stay in those eggs after the event ends too). With 50 Salandit Candy you can then evolve a female Salandit into Salazzle.
This event will remain active until Thursday 7th of April at 11:59 pm local time.
With this event Team GO Rocket will be appearing more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons. For balloons it means every 3 hours instead of every 6 hours you can find one. During this event you can also use Charged TMs to help Shadow Pokémon forget their Charged Attack Frustration.
I've made this post quite late as I had a busy weekend and Monday. With restrictions over here lowered, there was a convention in my country this weekend. It's called FACTS. An acronym for Fantasy, Animation, Comics, Toys and Sci-Fi. I went there this weekend with some friends and had a great time. I watched the Q&A sessions for Michael Rooker, best known to me as Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy. I also watched Danny Trejo's Q&A and part of Rick Hoffman's Q&A. Other actors that visited the convention, but I couldn't attend their Q&A's were Natalia Tena, Jacob Bertrand, Peyton List and Richard Rankin.
Here is a zoomed in photo taken from when Michael Rooker aka Yondu was holding his Q&A sessions.
Back to the Pokémon GO event
With the GO Tour: Johto event the ticket holders who finished the Special Research received a new Special Research called "Masterwork Research: Apex", which lead to Apex Shadow Ho-Oh and Apex Shadow Lugia. I still have to do a post about this, I'll likely do that when I finished it. I already caught Apex Shadow Ho-Oh, and then I had to spend a month earning at least 1 heart a day with a Buddy Pokémon. I finished that just before the weekend, and have to defeat 30 Team GO Rocket members and the Boss, Giovanni. As you can see in this screenshot.
This event is great to find those members quickly and defeat them. I've already hatched a couple of Eggs over the weekend, some 2 km ones, but also some thanks to Adventure Sync from walking around at the convention. I have to hatch 3 more Eggs at the time of writing and look for Giovanni. I just realised I should claim the Super Rocket Radar though otherwise I won't find him 😅
New Shadow Pokémon
So Team GO Rocket has turned more Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon. The new Shadow Pokémon are:
- Shadow Alolan Rattata
- Shadow Alolan Sandshrew
- Shadow Alolan Exeggutor
- Shadow Sudowoodo
- Shadow Girafarig
- Shadow Numel
There's also Shadow Luxray, but it's used by one of the Team GO Rocket Leaders, and so it's not currently available to catch. I've seen most of these Shadow Pokémon already, except for Alolan Exeggutor and maybe Numel.
A Special Research "Silent Schemes" is also available. Here is the first text and tasks for it.
I'm currently at part 3. This Special Research will eventually give a Super Rocket Radar, I'm assuming on the 5th part. Which you can use to defeat Giovanni and obtain his newest Shadow Legendary. This time it's Shadow Latias! So the next one will likely be Shadow Latias.
I could already try and track down Giovanni soon because my Masterwork Reseach: Apex, also gives a Super Rocket Radar. But I should probably wait to see if I'm required to find and defeat him to solve Silent Schemes. Because that way I could keep one of the two Super Rocket Radars to find Decoy Grunts for more Mysterious Components. As I don't want to catch Shadow Latias twice for now.
Event Field Research task encounters
There are a few event tasks, 4 different ones and 2 of those have encounters.
- Purify 3 Shadow Pokémon: Sneasel ✨
- Defeat a Team GO Rocket Leader: Scraggy
- Defeat 2 Team GO Rocket Grunts: 2 Super Potion OR 2 Revive
- Catch 3 Shadow Pokémon: 750 Stardust
That wraps it up for this post. Good luck with the stats for your Shadow Latias when you find and defeat Giovanni!
