The Valentine's event has now ended on Pokémon GO. It brought us a quest to catch Spinda with a heart pattern on its head. Which does not seem to be visible in the Pokédex. As I have two of these, when I go to my Pokédex for Spinda and check all the patterns I have so far this one does not show up.
I wonder if they will make this one display in the Pokédex too. I kinda feel like they should. Perhaps Niantic has just forgotten to add another pattern into the Pokédex? Hopefully they'll add it soon, perhaps even as a different form from the regular 8 patterns, like they did with the Alolan.
This event made a lot of pink coloured Pokémon spawn more in the wild. Which has led me to come across some Lickitung and like one wild Chansey. I rarely come across any of these, so that was nice. Raids also had several pink Pokémon added as Bosses, including Chansey as a tier 3 Raid Boss. I had been quite busy, I haven't even been able to do a Raid every day of the event. When I had some time and there was a level 3 Raid it was never a Chansey. Until yesterday, during the final hours of the event! A nearby level 3 Raid hatched while I was on the go, and it became a Chansey! So I did not hesitate to do that one!
The Raid went quite well, only had to use this Machamp, with a friend fighting with Tyranitar and a kid who also joined fighting with a Lairon. I think his Lairon managed to stand strong as well as I could still see it at the end. The Chansey seems to be a fairly high IV too, haven't completely checked it out yet. It is weather boosted too so that was really nice!
Niantic has also announced the release of Clamperl! A gen 3 Pokémon! It will be released the same way we had the Feebas limited time quest even last month. This event for Clamperl will take place tomorrow during the usual Community Day hours! With limited quests rewarding Clamperl spawns as a reward. Make sure you don't spin Pokéstops yet before the event, or at least discard their quests, if you want to maximize your potential quests for Clamperl!
I do wonder how the evolving for Clamperl will go. As Clamperl evolves into Gorebyss by trading it with a Deep Sea Scale as held item and into Huntail by trading it with a Deep Sea Tooth as held item. By now trading is part of Pokémon GO, but held items aren't. And neither of those items exist in the game either. So we'll have to find out how Clamperl can evolve! Perhaps it just requires Candy and no item. That's something we will find out tomorrow!
Are you excited to finally get Clamperl?
