Starting today, February 21st at 8 am local time a special friendship celebration weekend will be active. It will last through February 24 at 10 pm local time. It's time to celebrate friendships! This event will feature a few bonuses all related to friends.
Friendship levels will increase twice as fast, instead of 1 day progress any daily interaction will increase it by 2 days. So throughout the event we can progress 8 days instead of 4 with friends with whom we haven't become Best Friends yet. We will be able to open 40 gifts per day instead of 20 for the duration of the event and carry 20 gifts in our inventory instead of 10.
Trading will reward double the Candy, so you can get 2, 4 or 6 Candy of the Pokémon you're trading instead of 1, 2 or 3. Depending on the distance of course. When you trade a Pokémon with a distance of over 100 km you will receive the maximum amount of 6 Candy for the Trade. Stardust cost for trading will also be halved during this event, so any regular Trades will cost only 50 Stardust instead of 100 and this is also beneficial for any Special Trades that cost quite some Stardust.
I've made a Pokemon GO community here last night and the first post I've made there is one where people can share their Friend Code and look for others to add. If you want to share your code with others or just add some people who shared theirs, go check it out at https://steemit.com/hive-165719/@athunderstruck/pokemon-go-share-your-friend-code-and-or-look-for-others
Rhyhorn Community Day coming up
Tomorrow, February 22nd from 11 am local time through 2 pm local time in the northern hemisphere and from 3 pm local time through 6 pm local time for players in the southern hemisphere, the monthly Community Day will be taking place. This one is different from any previous Community Days, as earlier this month we were able to vote on 4 nominated Pokémon for the Community Day. Rhyhorn came out as the winner.
Shiny Rhyhorn, Rhydon and Rhyperior will be added to the game starting tomorrow with the Community Day. This Community Day will be featuring 3x Catch Stardust as an extra bonus for the 3 hours of the event. I have personally saved a few Espeon and Umbreon that I got from Field Research tasks so that I can catch them tomorrow using a Star Piece for 4.5x the Stardust they would normally give.
Evolving Rhydon into Rhyperior during the event, or up to 2 hours after the event, will teach Rhyperio the Community Day exclusive attack "Rock Wrecker". This move will be great for Rhyperior as a Rock-type attacker, making it even better than it was before with Stone Edge. I currently have a 100% Rhyperior fully powered up, which I will definitely have as a Ground-type attacker then while one evolved during the Community Day will be a Rock-type attacker. I still have a 100% Lucky Rhyhorn I got from a trade a while ago, so I will definitely evolve that one and power it up.
Sinnoh Stones are required to evolve Rhydon into Rhyperior. If you are lacking any Sinnoh Stones you will be able to earn some extra ones from GO Battle League Battles. From February 22, 12 am through February 22 at 11:59 pm you can earn two Sinnoh Stones per regular- or premium track GO Battle League battles completed. Niantic says it doesn't matter if you win or lose, so from my understanding that means even if you lose all 5 battles your track reward will contain up to two Sinnoh Stones. Perhaps they may not be guaranteed though. You can do up to 5 sets of these battles per day, so it'll be possible to earn up to 10 Sinnoh Stones this way if you are in need of some Sinnoh Stones.
Are you looking forward to Rhyhorn Community Day?
