Today in the afternoon when I launched the game from home to see if there were any raids I saw a Kirlia raid at the gym near the church on the city's market square. Since I have a 96% Gardevoir and a 93% male Ralts potentially ready to evolve into Gallade there is still room for improvement. So I decided I would give the raid a try as I still had yesterday's free raid pass available and wasn't sure if I'd get the chance for a level 4 or 5 raid today
While I was walking towards the raid I saw a Feebas and Ralts at a nearby Pokéstop so I made sure to pick those up first. They don't spawn here often so they're always a good catch, even if they're not so good they can at least still give some extra candy
When I reached the Familie gym on the market place there were only a few minutes left for the Kirlia raid. I entered the raid right away so the 120 second lobby timer could go down, kinda expecting to be in there alone. When the lobby was at about 60 seconds remaining I noticed a fellow team Mystic member of level 18 joined and a level 19 of team Valor. I looked around and didn't see anyone around me playing Pokémon. Only someone sitting in the shade. There are many places on the market place where you can drink something though and from some of them you can reach the gym so I figured they must be sitting there. They were likely unable to properly finish the raid alone, so I was glad to help them out. I saw the fellow team Mystic member in the gym a bit later, seemed like he reached level 19 with that raid
I didn't check what CP a 100% IV Kirlia has from the raid. After catching I did an appraise and was happy to see it being a wonder with 2 max stats. That could still mean it's as low as 82% and up to 98%. I used an IV calculator and was pleasantly surprised to see it's a 98% and male too. So that's a nice improvement on my 93% male Ralts and I'll keep this Kirlia around for sure now to be able to evolve it into Gallade when gen 4 comes out
I can conclude that it was really worth to do this Kirlia raid. Not only did I help those two other players through the raid, but I also got a great Kirlia out of it. The Ralts itself is around 70% so I'll trade it to someone else sometime to see if they get lucky and get a higher % IV out of it. As for the Feebas that one is 91% so a great catch too!
