With Raikou, Entei and Suicune as Research Breakthrough rewards the past 3 months, the legendary dog trio from gen 2 has now passed by as rewards completely. For this November, Niantic has decided to finally bring Nincada, Ninjask and Shedinja into the game!
In the main games you need to evolve Nincada into Ninjask while having an open slot in your party and a Pokéball in your bag in order to get Shedinja automatically. Which is most likely why it took a while before Nincada and its evolution line were added into the game.
Now is the time though! I did kinda expect to see a wild Nincada show up every now and then, but haven't been able to. Then I learned there is a quest to catch Bug-type Pokémon which gives Nincada as a spawn reward. So we can get Nincada from that quest this month and Shedinja as a 7-day Research Breakthrough reward. I'm wondering if Nincada will show up in the wild after this month then or be limited to quests.
I've caught my first Shedinja from the Research Breakthrough rewards now! I was able to take a rather nice autumn look AR picture while catching Shedinja. Between my latest blog post and this one I was able to come across another Shiny Pinsir while walking somewhere more quiet and was able to take an AR picture of it too. So I felt like including it.
From the research quest to make 5 Great throws in a row we get Wigglytuff as a reward now. Earning a candy while walking with your buddy now rewards Clefable as a spawn. Up until this point I did not have Clefable registered in my Pokédex. I've had the candy to evolve Clefairy for a long time already, just never really did. When I received this Clefable spawn from the quest I decided to catch it anyway and get it registered in the Pokédex.
This month also brings a new Spinda pattern. It's the pattern with number 7. As it's a new month, the task to get the Spinda is different again. This time you need to make 3 Nice curveball throws.
Have you been able to capture your first Shedinja too?
