A while ago i came across the Godot game engine it is open source and cross platform two thing's that i was looking for at the time because i wanted to make some games for Linux i dove straight into trying to learn it like i do with most things but the most i was ever able to do was make a buggy flappy bird style game.
Godot uses its own built in scripting language called Gd script a python style language witch after much trying and failing to grasp got me to do something it made me want to learn python so i could better understand Gd script and that's something when a product can make you want to learn something to become better at it that just brings me joy.
You can find more on Godot here: https://godotengine.org/ it's also on steam not this one the other one anyway that's a short bit on Godot and my experience with it so far i will continue to play around with it and see what i can make in the mean time im going to keep practicing python as im having quite a lot of fun with pygame and libtcod but that's a story for tomorrow!
