Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku
When it comes to Dragon Ball Z games, most of them are these are fighting games. I was and avid watcher of the show but I was mostly uninterested in fighting games, beyond a few that I played as a kid, so I would stay away from Dragon Ball Z games for the most part. The Legacy of Goku changed that for me. This was a full and ready action adventure with rpg elements game set in the Dragon Ball Z Universe, and beyond it and its sequel, there isn't many like it. Let jump into an analysis of this game. Check out some gameplay footage from this awesome gem here:
The Good:
This game has incredible dept for being a gameboy advanced game. When I first started I expected the character models and worlds to look cheesy and instead I was impressed by the colorful and detailed world and characters that this game has to offer. They drop you into the world right as the series begins in the TV show. There are little mini tasks you will be playing along the way. The first you see is searching for your masters porn collection. Speaking of which, this game follows the Dragon Ball Z Tv series pretty perfectly and I havent seen a game try to accomplish this task to date. If that is not the case and there is a dragon ball z game like this but updated LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS!

I felt like a badass being able to fight and fighting all the enemies you would see in the show. From a battle with Vegeta that is epic to the ultimate fight with Freiza that we all know and love so much. This game will take you through it all. I founnd it funny that you even had to run the golden road in this game. The story is told perfectly and the game is very polished and well done. For fans of the DBZ series, this game is amazing and held in high regards.
The Bad:
Much like many other series that came out in this era, a lot of the levels are set out like mazes and it is your task to figure out the puzzles within the mazes. Whether its searching for items or finding a person, getting lost in the labrynth that is this game can get annoying and might turn some players off. There was serveral times throughout the game where I was simply just stuck because the world had me confused. They did a good job with having to explore but it can certainly be annoying to some gamers, especially since we live in the "Next gen graphics " generation who have a hard time appreciating old games. This wouldnt be the first I would recommend to someone like that.

The Ugly:
I know this was on the Gameboy advanced, and the limitations of the system hold things back, but I would have loved to see this game last longer. A little more details.. I dont even mind the graphics, but updates in terms of buttons and mechanics. The game really has potential in terms of concept. If it was updated and released for consoles after this, it would certainly have my buy. All in all the game is too short.

OVERALL SCORE: 7/10 A FUN ADVENTURE
This game is really good. A ton of fun. I only wish that it was longer and more in dept. As for it being a GBA game, it definitely held up and continues to stand the test of time. The game plays just fine to date and I would totally recommend grabbing a copy if you can ever find it. This is totally a gem for the fan of the Dragon Ball Z series and just a fun game in general to play for the average gamer. You dont even have to be a fan of the series to enjoy this one, but it will really jump start your gears if you are a fan. I hope you enjoyed this review. If you enjoyed it please leave me an upvote and comment if you have experience with this or other Dragon ball z games like this. Thanks for hanging with me and Ill catch you next time! Stay awesome!
