Diablo I
The original Diablo has had a big modding community from the get go, and it's still ongoing. The Awakening is one of the finest examples of what you can get if you want to breath new life into the fires of hell. Check out it's trailer below and get it at: https://mod.diablo.noktis.pl (requires the original game files)
Diablo II
The modding community is also strong in this one. One of the marvels you can run into is a modded private server called Annihilus where you can host sessions for up to 64 players instead of the regular maximum of 8. It also introduces a variety of new items, abilities, spells and, of course, monsters and bosses. Watch the trailer below and get it at: http://annihilus.net/
Diablo III
First two titles were developed by the Blizzard North department, which was fired in favor of the World of Warcraft team taking over because of how successful they were with their cartoony MMORPG.
The Diablo fanbase took an arrow to the knee because of this, and we can only dream about what we would have played from the original team while contemplating these Diablo 3 2005 screenshots from their then-cancelled project.
