No Man's Sky Will Probably Get A Major Update This August
This August 2017 will mark 1 year since the videogame No Man's Sky launched for both PC and PlayStation 4 last August 2016, receiving very mixed reviews shortly after, to say the least. The nearly infinite procedurally generated universe felt huge, epic, empty, and directionless, all at the same time. Over the months came the Foundation update which added the ability to build bases and own freighters, and then the Pathfinder update which allows to build up to three different land vehicles.

While both updates also added a number of side quests to obtain the needed materials and equipment, it is rumored that the August 2017 update may finally bring a story mode to No Man's Sky. Thats right, follow your character in some (hopefully epic) quest to ultimately bring down a villain or something, likely with NPCs that interact with you from mission to mission. It is also rumored that a new alien species will be added for this story mode.
I guess we will have to wait and see, but hopefully this update gives the game a real goal and a real meaning. Hello Games has created an interesting game in No Man's Sky and has been working hard on improving it.
