Today, Rockstar Games announced the three special editions for Red Dead Redemption 2 and all the included features. The three editions are the Special Edition, Ultimate Edition and the Collectors Box. Rockstar also announced a number of pre-order bonuses. These bonuses include the War Horse and the Outlaw Survival Kit, containing consumable items for Health and the Dead-Eye meter. Digital pre-order bonuses include a cash bonus for story mode and, if player pre-order by July 31 an in-game treasure map. Digital pre-orders also include bonus GTA cash.

Here's a list of the three special editions and what they include.
Special Edition
- Bank Robbery Mission and Gang Hideout in Story Mode - an exclusive mission and a Del Lobos Gang hideout to raid for loot.
- Dappled Black Thoroughbred - an in-game horse for Story Mode that comes with the Nuevo Paraiso Saddle.
- Talisman and Medallion Gameplay Bonuses - includes the Eagle Talon Talisman, which makes the environmental awareness skill last longer, and Iguana Scale, which increases damage resistance on horseback.
- Gameplay Boosts, Cash Bonuses & Discounts - earn more cash from missions, discounts from gang merchants and general stat boosts.
- The Nuevo Paraiso Gunslinger Outfit - features a wide brimmed black cowboy hat, deep indigo coat, worn denim chaps, leather gloves and boots.
- Free Access to Additional Weapons - includes the Volcanic Pistol, Pump Action Shotgun and Lancaster Varmint Rifle.
Ultimate Edition

- Bonus Outfits - includes the Blackrose Bounty Hunter Outfit and Copperhead Enforcer Outfit.
- Black Chestnut Thoroughbred - an in-game horse for both Story and Online modes, includes the High Plains Cutting Saddle.
- Free Access to the Survivor Camp Theme - a cosmetic theme for in-game Survivor Camps.
- Bonus Experience - increases the time players will rank up in Online Mode, up to Rank 25
Collectors Box
- Does not bonuses from the previous two editions or the game itself
- Metal Tithing Box with Lock & Key - the box of goodies is manufactured in the style of an in-game metal box.
- Collectable Challenge Coin - comes with a plaque with information on the American Buffalo.
- Double Sided Puzzle - a 100 piece jigsaw puzzle of the Saint Denis port.
- Six Shooter Bandana - a red bandana inspired by the in-game bandits, has weapon iconography throughout.
- Treasure Map - an actual cloth treasure map that will direct players to in-game items.
- Pin Set - Six Red Dead Redemption themed pins in a cloth bag.
- Playing Cards - A fully illustrated deck of cards including characters such as Arthur Morgan, John Marston, Javier Escuella, Bill Williamson and Dutch van der Linde.
