"Pam pa ram, pam pam pa ram! Pam pa ram.."
-Guards (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)
So did you vote for your favorite games for the Steam Awards? From my favorite games list, only 3 that were nominated for the Steam Awards, The Witcher 3, Dishonored 2, and Undertale. But I voted only 1 out of the 3 for the best and most fitted for the nominations, and it won an award; The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Choices Matter.
But if we are talking about a winner among these winners, it probably be Cuphead because it's the only game that won two awards; Best Soundtrack and Even Better Than I Expected.
Despite that I never played Cuphead before, I still voted for it for the Best Soundtrack award over Transistor, or even Undertale, which is one of my favorite games that I actually played before and loved the soundtracks so much.
And yes it was a tough decision. I decided to go for Cuphead instead because I know how that old timey cartoon-game is from watching someone's playthrough and I thought I'd vote for Cuphead's jazz music soundtracks. That's only for the soundtrack, though, I don't know about Even Better Than I Expected as I haven't played it myself. My favorite is Murine Corps and Floral Fury (that twist at the end of Murine Corps tho). Now let's get back to our master witcher.
Well that's one that caught my fascination besides The Witcher 3. Any games could be nominated in Steam Awards regardless of what year the games were released and that's became an opportunity for The Witcher 3 to win more award after all the buttload of awards it has earned already.
2 years maybe not long enough to say "this was released so long ago" for a video game. But still, to see the amount of awards The Witcher 3 have achieved since even before the year of its initial release date is really jaw dropping. Back in 2015 the three runner up for the Game Award was Fallout 4 with 56 awards, and then there was Bloodborne with 31 awards, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain with 29 awards.
Unfortunately none of them got two swords and a crossbow so they were all topped up by Geralt and the Monster Slayer Club with 253 GotY awards. And it was within its release year. It's incredible especially for a single player game, yes? I'm sure that's what many gamers thought at that time, and maybe CDPR as well. Until CDPR announced that The Witcher 3 has won over 800 awards on their blog.
Best RPG, Best Narrative, Best Storytelling, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction. Gamespot's, GamesRadar's, Eurogamer's, and a lot more Game of the Year. And don't forget CD PROJEKT RED also won the Developer of the Year award for this. I can keep going all day...
Wait, no I can't. It's too much to list. And now Roach got one more trophy to hang on the side of the saddle, Steam award for Choices Matter. Now that we are in 2018, I wonder if this game could win more after all that awards.
And don't forget that not only The Witcher 3, but also the first Witcher game too, the no beard Geralt, which is now a 10 years old game, won the No Apologies award that is described as the award for the games that you love unconditionally despite the flaws.
Well deserved, CD PROJEKT RED. May this astounding achievements push the other developers to do better and better.
Now here's a nice dubstep Pam Pa Ram, best soundtrack of the game.
