Hullo, hullo, and welcome to another installment of my Sims 4 Legacy Challenge! You can find the other episodes here:
Episode 1 / Introduction
Episode 2
Before we begin, I'd just like to state that I have not yet reached the stage where I prefer this over the Sims 3. I miss the open-world. I miss the feeling of a "living" world. I miss the Relativity mod. I miss... the auto-roof function in the house builder. Seriously. I can't make roofs look good.
What do I like about Sims 4 compared to Sims 3? I like being able to multitask. Having a sim listen to radio, while eating dinner, and talking to someone at the same time is fantastic. Music, fun, social all at once! Woo! Graphics are cute, too. And I like the easy access to a gallery of other people's creations.
And, that's really it. :)
I almost want to open up the Sims 3 and start this challenge anew in a superior, more-fun game. BUT. I will do this. In the Sims 4.
Onward.
First of all. There were empty houses in my neighbourhoods! So I did what any normal person would do. Browsed the gallery to find suitable families to throw into aforementioned empty houses. I would just like to note that I did NOT download this "family," but it made me double-take. :D
Maybe I should have... hmm. Anyway!
Here we have a perfect example of why I need the auto-roofing from the Sims 3 inserted into the Sims 4. But a bigger family calls for a bigger house and by Generation Ten this house is going to be a masterpiece! A masterpiece with a shoddy roof. :) Here's hoping my architectural skills develop further by that time.
I would also like to state my disapproval of the lacking outdoor children's items. Apparently I need to buy yet another stuff pack to get a simple sandpit. No, thank you. I've spent enough money on this game. The current sale means nothing to me. In AUD, it's still exorbitant. FURTHERMORE, the EA store doesn't have a bloody shopping cart. No, I don't want to buy things one at a time and get a million extra charges on my credit card.
On Alexander's first day of school, he came home with a science project to do! Ever the hands-on parents, Paolo and Trinity help him get it done before before school starts the very next day. A perfect start to a straight-A student. A grand life awaits him.
Unfortunately, because we're on normal life-spans, he's only a kid for so long and it's almost his birthday already! QUICK! To the park! Time to make a bunch of friends and...
...drag them all over to celebrate his teenage-hood.
When you were 8yrs old a minute ago, and now you're 16 with a bunch of younger friends. Terrible, just terrible.
It turns out he's also become a carbon copy of his father. Not too bad I guess. I don't think the Legacy is going to be strange-looking any time soon. I keep glancing at that gallery family pictured earlier. Getting bad ideas that need to be shoved away. I wouldn't be able to take the game seriously anymore. But am I at all?
Resist urge to go silly.
Teenage Alexander has soon realised that if he wants to be a cool kid, he needs a mohawk like every other teenager in this world. Alas, his parents, by my will, deny him.
This is Star. This is Alexander's teenage love interest. Look at her sneer with disdain at Alexander's hair. "Grow a mohawk," she sniffs. "I don't want to be seen with you."
Evidently, because they were supposed to be on a date but as soon as he talked at her for a bit, she decided to leave and the "date" event disappeared. Discriminated against for lack of mohawk. For shame.
Apparently her disdain for his lacking mohawk didn't last for much longer though, because they went to the romance festival together and lo-and-behold! Next thing I know, she's promised herself to him. Way to go, girl.
And we have come full circle. On the last day of Alexander's schooling, he gets given another project to complete to cement his place as the most excellent student they've ever had the pleasure of teaching. Ever the hands-on parents, Paolo and Trinity will help their son 'til the end.
Speaking of 'the end,' Alexander is a Young Adult now, and since I am following the rules of the Legacy Challenge, I have booted out the old folks and the house now belongs to him. He celebrates by rockin' out. Guitar face! Feel that music, man.
Like most dopey young people, he and Star believe that their love will last a lifetime and Alexander doesn't want to play the field. Rather, there's not enough time in a normal-length life-span to play the field, so he asks Star out on their first Young Adult Date, and proposes. Ahh, young love.
Here's hoping their many babies don't come with mohawks.
"Babe, I love you, I really do, but can we hurry this up. I need to pee!"
Like all good weddings, this one was crashed by Darth Vader... and Red Eleven is standing by.
Like all good weddings, this one was also crashed by THE GRIM REAPER. Darth Vader has become one with the force. I'm not sure if that bodes well for Alexander and his new wife. A death at a wedding can't be a good sign. But it WAS Darth Vader. May everlasting peace spread through the galaxy until another powerful sith comes along. A sith sorceror. Who may or may not be a colicoid.
I need to play more SWTOR.
Curse them for removing the Oceanic servers.
That concludes Episode 3 of my Sims 4 Legacy Challenge!
Alexander wants to partay down and Star wants to be a musical genius. She's also jealous as hell so Alexander can never have another female friend ever again.
May they live a fruitful life. Until next time! :D
