Today we are going to take a look at the new cards Hunter has been given.
This review doesn't concern itself with the viability of cards for constructed, only for arena
The Marsh Queen
disclaimer: Blizzard is yet to say whether quests will be available for arena, so I'm reviewing it just to be sure, but I guess, quests won't be a part of the arena
Getting 7 ones drops is something that isn't super likely in arena, but if there is a class that can do it, it is most likely hunter, specially with the new 1 drops hunter is getting in Un'Goro. But still, getting to finish this quest feels unlikely to me, so I would probably just go for a different legendary anyways.
Score: 5/10
Raptor Hatchling
A decent one drop that gives you another one drop. But the issue is that you don't get it into your hand, it puts it into your deck. Just because of that, the value of this card diminishes significantly.
Score 6/10
Jeweled Macaw
Another one drop for hunter and very similar to the previous one. The stats are worse and the variance of the result is much higher. Though over time, I think the value of this one will probably be higher.
Score 6/10
Stampede
A draw mechanism for hunter, very similar to Lock and Load, but this time, it costs only 1 mana and you are much more likely to have Beasts rather then spells, specially in this expansion where beasts are super abundant. Probably not a bad choice if you don't have any hand replenishing mechanics in your deck and you are playing a aggro one, as it allows you to refill your hand if you don't manage to kill your opponent quick enough, giving you a chance even for the long game.
Score: 7/10
Crackling Razormaw
If you have decent number of low cost beasts, this card is completely bonkers. And even in situation where you don't have anything to adapt, it's still a decent two drop. I love it.
Score 8/10
Grievous Bite
A good removal tool, similar to Explosive Shot, but this one will be super good in the early game. I can easily imagine playing this on turn 4, to clear to board after trading and playing a two drop minion on top of this.
Score 8/10
Dinomancy
This hero power altering card will most likely be one of the best epics available for hunters in arena. Getting a 2/2 buff for your beats is just such an insane proposition. The only potential issue is you not having beasts, but during the Un'Goro arena meta, this card will certainly get its value
Score 9/10
Terrorscale Stalker
A decently stated 3 drop with a potentially insane effect if you do have a deathrattle effect in play. But even if you don't this will be a decent curve play.
Score 8/10
Swamp King Dred
And finally, the hunter legendary minion. A 9/9 that automatically attacks your oponents minions as they come into play. Yes I can see the value of this, but it is also easily removable with any hard removal. Essentially, for the purposes of arena, it's pretty good big minion, but there are still better ones.
Score 8/10
