Player background: NES - XB1/PS4
I play games and I'm guessing so do you, which is the reason you are here. When I look to play a game there are multiple things i look at that could be phrased a thousand different ways but really its going to be a variable on the game. I dont play a game like destiny for the story, but give me an in depth character building and story like the new God of War and you have me hooked.
Destiny (for me) is a pure loot hunt and task completing game. I need to complete as many "tasks" as I can and as a result, i will build a fat stack of gear in my arsenal. I dont mind grinding...some of Destiny is just that. With regards to the fulfillment of what I need out of this game the jury is still out.
In retrospect to Destiny 1, the loot hunt/grind was more fulfilling in that there were actually unique weapons and armor that really gave an exciting thrill of "oh man i cant wait to get that piece!" So in turn i would play and play until I got it to increase my enjoyment and bask in the spoils of not only owning an item but utilizing it to be the biggest badass around! :)
While I think Destiny 2 initially didnt grasp this, I think the developers are starting to better tailor the special items to really help better define their value. There were LOADS of updates this patch in reworking a lot of the exotics to help them feel...well....exotic and live up to their name. Previously if i found an exotic it felt more as a collectible cool item rather than a "AWWW HELL YEAH BOI LEMME TEST THIS OUT!" Thats what i want in a game and I think potentially we are getting closer with this expansion.
While i believe it is better, only time will tell to really determine how the "loot hunt" and character gear development plays out. If you want to check out my first stream of it check out the link below. This is my first Steemit so I'm not really sure the format I want to do with these so feedback/constructive criticism is GREATLY appreciated. In addition if you have anything you would like to see out of my stream(s) id love feedback there too! :)
