Well, I saw a new game coming out on Hive called Dungeon Cities and joined the Discord to find out a bit more...
DC Quoue: 'Dungeon Cities is a new text-based, play-to-earn RPG that is coming to Hive Blockchain. If you are a fan of dungeon crawler games and love text-based RPGs then this game is made especially for you!'
I like old-style games and texted adventure-type games, and was excited to see a new Hive game appear.
However looking back and reading the storyline it looks very weak for a text-based game, in brief:
Some random monsters popped out of some cracks now called dungeons and people fought them and pushed them back down their crack!
And built cities around the cracks so they could hunt them(seems a bit odd) wouldn't they just bomb them and seal them off or something?
Now looking a this picture what age are you supposed to be living in? It looks like a kind of modern city, and I'd imagine you get some modern equipment and tech?
(not much of a back story)
Ok, so back to the game I tried today for a $5 dungeon key thingy.
You can buy from the shop but can't wield anything at the moment. So I jumped in naked and unarmed to the dungeon(maybe I could find some stuff?) I bumped into rats that were too tough for me. and I found a chest that will just disappear when you leave the dungeon(at this stage).
And running out of stamina and low on HP, that's it.
I was done in a minute.
I think you need to wait around 24 hours to regain your stamina and health.
I don't see the point of launching a game and saying 'It's a pre-something'
And charging $5 HBD, and then talking about buying an in-game tokens called 'drubble '
Hopefully, I'll be amazed by the upcoming development of the game and I'm not trying to be negative.
I think it looks bad for HIVE, and if I showed people this, they would think it's some kind of a joke or a bad scam.
At this stage, I'd advice to wait for some progress and don't waste $5, go and play some free Steam games or get your old ZX81 or Spectrum out and give that a bash!
