5 Things New School Gamers Will Never Endure that Previous Generations had to Endure
The gaming world has changed in the past 30 years. For what is use to be, we now have it pretty easy when it comes to the labor we have to put in order to experience our beloved gaming franchises.
Walking to your Buddies House to Play Co-Op
Back in my day, we would have to walk blocks to the next town over just in order to kick a friends ass at a certain game. It kinda felt like you were the away team and the odds were against you. How about the times you beat them so many times in their home that you got kicked out, gamers today will never know that experance.
With the ability to play online, co-oping has a whole new feel now. Just type in the username of the person you desire to play and there you have it. No more raw emotions or people getting kicked out, just crying over the mic.
Tangled Controllers
How did this happen? Controllers are kinda like that socks diapering in a washing machine act. You turn around one second, your controllers are all loose, then no shit 5 seconds later, all your control wires are tangled. Thanks to the wireless controls that have been coming out the past few gaming generations, this is an experience and pain that only old-schoolers will know about.
Clutter
Clutter is still around today, but back in the day! Wow. You had big bulky game carts and consoles, tangled controllers and limited amount of space. add-on components did no justice by usually being double the size. It still is around today, but not as bad as it was before.
Renting
Remember when you use to want to play a new game and just walked to your local video rental shop in order to do so? Well those days are gone. With the ability to download demos and games, the need to rent has faded away and will never comeback. Tangible games are on their way out slowly due to the fact that online streaming is the new thing. Many today will never know what a Blockbuster was, sad.
Blowing In your Games
With game consoles such the NES and SNES, we sometimes (really mostly) had to blow in the carts to have them to order to work. On certain occasions more then once or even more. With games being on downloaded or in CD format today, the need of blowing in to game carts has well been "blown" away.
Get it!! "blown" away?
