Let's say you play Fortnite and you try to win given the 1/100 chance without including skill you’ll have a much higher chance of not winning and feeling like you wasted your time, instead of beating yourself up about it I find it better to play to have fun and mess around, a great way of doing this is playing with non-try hardy friends.
The potential to lose is what makes you want to play the next day to get more wins despite it being a meaningless count. If you are bored there is no point in doing something with a low chance of a positive outcome given your reasoning behind it.
It’s the same reason I’ve moved on from FPS games because it drains me mentally and physically. You play with the intent of having fun originally but have a good chance on leaving unfulfilled which can drag on later and overtime build up.
A build up leading to nothing can be a big hotspot for disappointment and feeling a waste of time. After that the worst thing you can do is blame yourself.
