We finally got the Nighthawk X4S, with a value of £149.99, I have a lot to say about it.
First, the Specs:
According to Netgear's website, it has "The World's fastest WiFi" - Up to 2.53Gb
Dual Core 1.7 Ghz Processor
160Mhz support + Gigabit WiFi & Gigabit Wired.
Also with the 802.11ac as the WiFi networking standard.
It also has 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz options (with extra 15 channels for 5Ghz).
FTP Support
USB Media options
VPN Support
Guest Network Option
2 Firewalls (SPI & NAT)
Last but not least, DoS attack prevention
Now the Unboxing:
Here is a nice shot of the box, all the technical information on the back...
Shows us most of the information we already know, 2.53Gpbs, 1.7Ghz Dual Core... It also informs us that it has Dynamic QoS, Quad-Stream Wave 2 WiFi, etc.
A nice shot of the Router itself.
Fully unboxed we have 3 information papers, 4 Antennae, a Wall Plug, Ethernet Cable, and the Router itself.
Before and After
Originally we pay for (around) 100Mbps Download Speed, and something like 5Mbps Upload.
Before the X4S (using Virgin Media's Modem Router...) on 5Ghz. Not that impressive right?
After setting up the X4S... Wow. I'm impressed... That is a 180% increase, not what I was expecting at all.
So far my impressions of the Nighthawk X4S are excellent... Well, we did spend £150 on it.
