PARAGON - GAME REVIEW
Paragon is a third-person sci-fi action MOBA where players through teamwork try to gain supremacy in the arena. The game features a unique card system instead of a traditional item shop, a vast hero pool and amazing graphics.
The game has a Skill-Based Combat system, where you have to aim your skills with precision to connect with opponents. It has a diverse roster of heroes, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, unique abilities, and roles in combat.
The goal of the game is to destroy the enemy teams nexus, similar to other MOBAs.
In every match you have to work with teammates to strategically defeat opponents, push through lane defenses, sneak attack the enemy heroes and defend against incoming attacks. You can face enemies on the lanes or farm the jungle untill you are strong enough to do so.
Equiping heroe cards grants you bonouses like health, health regeneration, armor, attack damage, ability power, e.t.c.
The card system at first seems a bit unorthodox, and hard to understand in depth but after a couple of days playing, becomes understandable and fun.
The game's Graphics are based on Unreal Engine 4 which makes the graphics amazing.
The map is a classic 3 lane MOBA map, but it is smaller than it used to be, losing that traditional MOBA feel and really taking advantage of the verticality afforded a third-person 3D game.
The hero design is unique and Sci-fi and Fantasy inspired. The hero design, ranges from orcs, robots, augmented dudes with prosthetic parts to elves.
Well, you get my point.
The progression system
When playing in a match you will attain gold, that you can then spend on one of the three attributes.
Agility, Vitality and Intellect.
Each attribute has five gem slots that passive skill gems can be inserted into. Once you reach a certain slot after buying the required attribute points that gem becomes active.
The attribute system at first may look daunting and confusing, however as you get more and more games you get under your belt, it becomes very refreshing and easy to understand.
Overall, Paragon is an amazing free-to-play game, which is still in Beta and has huge potential. Once you get to understand it's mechanics the game becomes really fun to play.
If you've tried the game a year ago or so, I have to tell you one thing. It is a different game at the moment.
