Nintendo has again applied for the trademark 'Game Boy' together with an illustration of the popular game console
If you were one of the many who spent hours running Super Mario through one lane after another on your Game Boy, there is now serious opportunity to become good old-fashioned retro-happy.
By the Japanese Twitter account Trademark Bot it is alleged that Nintendo on September 15 applied for the trademark 'Game Boy' along with illustration that completely resembles the original Game Boy. It was launched in 1989 and has since been sold in around 120 million copies.
Nintendo has recently re-launched editions of the old gaming consoles Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Nintendo.
Also, Commodore 64 has been released in a new modern edition, the C64 Mini.
The Game Boy was launched in Asia and North America in 1989 and the following year in Europe.
