Crypto is a crazy concept to some people. What do you mean digital assets are worth something? They are just on a screen, I can't touch them. But to gamers this is nothing new. At all. We knew the value of digital goods for years. This includes items that made our characters stronger to cool new hats that make us look cool. In some games there is even virtual property. To us a world were a digital asset is worth money is common-place and it is one of the reasons I think crypto is going to go main stream.
Gaming assets have been a market for a long time. Take games like World of Warcraft were people sold digital gold for real money. Why? Because it lets them purchase stuff in game. And if there is no other way to get that gold besides a market, then it can go up and down in value like any other asset. A digital economy works and has worked for years outside of the crypto world. It was less efficient and people did not own their goods which is a big problem when you have a market place. But now we can solve those problems. We can also have a marketplace that doesn't need to be watched by the game company and can be self-regulated by the community.
So when you hear about crypto and don't really get it, talk to a gamer. We are usually very friendly. We don't bite and can show you some cool new game you should be trying. This is the crowd that needs to get their hands on a coin that can integrate with a solid game. They will push it to their friends and family, because we like to share. I think it is just a matter of time but to me it is proof the idea of a digital economy as already worked and will thrive now that the proper technology is here.
What game will be first to take the stage?
