This is a surprise. Ubisoft, which is a major gaming company is having a blockchain hackathon called blockchain heroes. And on top of that the cryptokitty CEO will be there to help judge the participants. Yeah we are getting close to the goal zone here. Playstation 5 is rumored to use blockchain for DRM and now Ubisoft is looking to get into blockchain gaming. There is still a ways to go but mainstream crypto is getting close.
For me I think blockchain gaming on the phone and home consoles is where we need to go to get to the public. Sure pc games are a large part of the industry but when a pc is involved you can still keep blockchain complicated. Like Meta mask. But on a console the wallet and game needs to be stream-lined. This means we might get to the point where the game is as smooth as any other game you play but with blockchain tech running the background.
I also want to see an internal marketplace to trade items to make it easier for users and then the ability to send your funds to an exchange from your wallet.
It will probably be on pc first but it looks like it is coming.
