Ill start with some photos of the bamboo from Asia
bamboo , i was trying to get an interesting shot
Another bamboo shot showing the root system, MAn this stuff is good for solidifying foundation like if you wanna make sure a hillside doesnt have landslides, plant some bamboo!
9I thought this photo looked cool with the "striped" bamboo in the middle
This little plant I showed before, it is growing out of a crack in the walkway but its in a great spot!
These Rock and cement staircases were built by Italian prisoners of ar during WW2, they were given jobs and paid in rom, board and even some cash which we let them take back to Italy after the war to help rebuild and you can bet your ass that they loved America after that! This is why people used to love America all around the world! We capture you fighting against us, we ship you to southern california, give you a job, and send you back to your home country after the war healthier and better fed than when you left and with more money than when you left! We used to be so much more honorable! That is what America being "Great" in the "past" means. I just love the history of my own backyard being so deeply intertwined with World History...that even captured prisoners of war were given a chance to show off their skills and we looked at them and thought "well let's put em to work! We'll get some nice Italian style rock staircases out of it!" and we got cheap labor but the Prisoners of War Im sure didnt mind, and were probably just amazed that they were able to be paid at ALL after having been caught in war and made prisoner! Hah during the end of the war Germans and Axis troops would run West and try to surrender to the US or British instead of the Soviet Russian's, who brought the Germans to forced labor camps in Siberia where they would mostly just be worked to death and never come home, and you cannot blame them for what the Germans did to Russia, this was the price they had to pay. So they were all trying to surrender to the Americans because they knew we had to give them Geneve Conventions treatment, they would get better food and treatment than in their own German Army at the end, and they also wanted a free trip to America! Anyway it's just very interesting!
here is a StagHorn fern , an airplant without normal roots that go in the ground, and this one is getting HUGE, we have to cut them up and make more soon!
These things used to be VERY expensive and I remember in the 90s as a child even smal ones at Nurseries could go for $100 each, big ones are still pretty expensive and even smal ons can still go for a lot! ..amazes me how these plants dont need rots, we feed them with rotten bananas that turn black, fruits in nature would drop and get stuck and I gues attract flies?
And here is another shot of teh stairs with my Treehouse in the background 9Im surrent inside typing away)
South American Datura Brugmansia tree on top, and in background the Fern is from Australia (Also have an Acacia Maidenii from Australia)
Big Leaves from the Brugmansia Datura
These things are realy heavy and weigh th whole branch down, and they look like peppers but they re NOT edible unless you want to hve a serious un fun psychedelic deliriant trip! Its what the people in South America and Cribean make the Zombie potion (Atropine and Scopalamine and Hyoscamine) out of and the pods have alot of seeds in them, and they form where the nice big yelow flowers came out of, and theyre FULL of drugs!
But they ARE the antidote to Sarin and VX nerve gas however! Theyre Acetylcholine Receptor Nerve Impulse Antagonist so Nerve gas just makes you twitch to death (triggers twitch impulses like blinking and swallowing breathing etc autonomous nervous system, and this chemical in this plant stops it those effects and BLOCKS the nerve gas sarin and VX.
See ho heavy they are weighing down the entire plant?
And some cactus growing out of the staircase cracks! Mever give up!
yet ANOTHER cactus growing from the cracks! It produces little baby cactus on its tips that break off and allow it to propagate and they fall into the cracks and start growing! Like an iceberg theres plenty of roots and dirt for them to grow UNDER the concrete!
There muist be a whole root system (rhizosphere) down there under the concrete now just working to pop up wherever it can!
And I should hangout up here more often, just setup a chair up here and laptop and Steemit from here at night!
i should be Live Streaming from here in the day and people will think im livestreaming from the Jungle! I think our banana trees in this photo are from Africa and I think some plants must be native and some must be from Europe and so there's plants here from every continent except Antarctica!
Ok next post will have updates of my Gorilla Glue and Purple Urkle and FireOG plants! Thank you steemit!
