With the garden now under control and cleaned up and the weather holding for another day I've turned my attention to the decking. I put the decking down quite a few years ago but this year we noticed the boards were very springy when you walked on them. Lifting a few boards showed that the framework underneath was far worse than I thought.
It's not just a bit rotted but has totally disintergrated in places and the underside of the boards don't look much better either.
My hopes of a quick fix are now out of the question and depending on what I find as I lift more boards I could be left with a total rebuild. My day then got worse as it seems I've lent out my electric saw to someone and I never got it back so will have to buy a new one.
So now instead of a cheap fix with wood I've got laying around it's a major job that isn't going to be cheap.
