This season of the year, I always struggling to germinate bitter melon seeds.
Peppers and egg plants need heat to germinate too but our heating is still on around February. Now no heating.
Luckily bitter melons start after few weeks but Luffas don't. It's common for Japanese kids to grow Luffas at school, at least my time. Luffa fruits can be used as an environment friendly sponge and I want to make some.
I couldn't wait until Luffas germinate any more so now it's time to start in pocket germination. I wrapped them with a slice of moist kitchen paper and put it in a plastic bag. I have it in my pocket all the time ... After two days, I'm happy to see one of them has germinated!
I wish three more follow. Luffa is common in Japan but seems not in Germany. Five seeds cost 3.2 Euro! It's a big gamble for me ๐
I know I need a heat mat next year ...
