Yesterday was a rainy day, so I didn't do any work outside, but I did manage to go out between rain showers and take a few pictures of the garden. All of the various crops are coming up nicely now, so I actually have something to talk about. So, let's take a look at the garden.
This is the side garden plot. Last year, I grew red potatoes here, this year, it's popcorn.
Here's an overview of the main garden. About half of this garden is also planted with popcorn, the rest is potatoes. The raised bed has tomato plants in it. Those big plants out in the middle of the popcorn are potato plants that came up from potatoes left in the garden from last fall's harvest.
These are the first potatoes that I planted this year. Most of them have come up now.
Here's a look at the tomato plants in the raised bed. These plants are a lot smaller than the ones in the greenhouse because they were started later. They seem to be doing pretty well.
Another look at the rows of popcorn in the main garden. There's a lot of weeds starting in between the rows, but that will have to wait for dry weather to deal with.
I planted yellow beans in the small raised bed by the container garden, they're up nicely now. Almost all of the seeds germinated, which is pretty good for 2 year old seeds.
One more picture, the newly rebuilt rain water collection system is doing pretty well, the cube is 3/4s full here from about a day and a half of rain showers.
