Hello, steemians, and welcome to da garden, eh!
I decided to pick the green beans today, it's been a couple of weeks since the last picking. We've had a fair amount of rainy days in the past couple of weeks, mixed with hot humid weather, so I haven't been very ambitious about getting the beans picked until now. I knew that the bean plants had bugs, but I didn't realize how bad they were until I went to pick them today. The plants were all yellowed out and a fair amount of the leaves were falling off the plants.
There were a lot of beans on many of the plants that were ready to be picked.
I started picking the beans off the plants, but then I decided that since these plants are done, pulling the plants and picking the beans off the plant while sitting in my chair by the fire pit would be a lot more enjoyable than working at the raised bed.
I pulled several plants at a time and picked the beans off of them, and then went back for the next batch of plants. While I was pulling bean plants, I noticed Fuzzy the Feral was relaxing in the corn patch.
I ended up picking about 3/4s of a 5 gallon bucket of beans off all the plants, so I got a pretty good harvest from the raised bed despite the bugs.
Well, that's all I have for this post, I hope you found it interesting!
Thanks for stopping by my page and checking out my post, eh!
