I've cleaned up my strawberry plants today, removing all dead leaves and repotting a few plants. Last July I've rooted a lot of shoots so I thought it would be fun to look back and see what changed.
Most are still dormant so they look tiny but about half of the ones seen here are hitting their 2nd and 3rd year meaning they should produce lots of lovely fruit.
I have 66 plants now, didn't quite hit my 3x goal I've set last July but I think a 2.6x is still respectable; strawberry plants ain't bitcoin after all and even the king is up 'only' 4x since then, heh.
I've moved about half of the younger plants in the greenhouse to see if I can wake them up quicker and have a really early crop.
Speaking about early crops, it seems the Alpine strawberries are living up to their name and they just don't give a damn it's still January out there and they're putting out fruit. I noticed that this plant tried to do it earlier as well but that fruit died off. I moved them in the greenhouse as well and see what will happen. Eating a strawberry in February would be awesome!
That's about it for today, as a bonus there's another plant I have that doesn't care it's winter out there.
Here's a rosemary in bloom; crazy plant.
Cheers peeps!
