Fantastic fun flowers are blooming within the vegetable #garden. Take a look at some of the interesting plants competing for glory within my crowded grow bags.
Underneath wreaths of bolting #arugula, the unassuming knockout flower makes its presence known with its brilliant color.
On the left, #Sunflowers, #tomato, #peas, and #vetch are all climbing to the sky. As they compete, they also aid the vertical growth of the others. This is my method.
Peas are being harvested daily. Sunflowers are still gaining in height before they will form flower buds.
This healthy plant in the center is another variety to my blooming one in the cover photo. It is expected to have white dazzling #flowers.
And this is what the red flowering plant looked like just a few weeks ago.
And here it is shortly after the bud popped open.
Some of my readers might remember the magical green and gold seed capsules I started growing indoors.
Flowering tobacco, also known as #nicotania. This one (Perfume Mix) is bred for its various flower colors, which can be red, pink, blue, purple, white, etc. This flower has been a great addition to the garden, with its sweet scent attracts butterflies and pollinators, and shield the nearby plants from bad insects. Its fuzzy leaves are slightly sticky and scented, which aphids and mites really dislike.
Consider growing tobacco in your garden next year as a beneficial companion plant. I think you will appreciate the results and its shining beauty.
