Ode To Brussels Sprouts

You must have been through a lot...
being left outside to independently do your thing
through snow storm, ice and all the whims winter threw you ...

I admire your tenacity for I can't imagine myself standing still
while the chilly wind blows all day long
the whole winter season ...

Despite all of that, you've managed to achieve fruition
and among all the veggies I photographed
you look the prettiest and the most beautiful ...

Look at what you've achieved on your own
so I wonder why you felt like you needed to lean so hard on Kale
when I don't even think you need her support
you can manage on your own ...

Kale is heaving with your weight that a few of her leaves got broken
you must be heaving with all those mini cabbage - look alike sprouts
you've managed to bear ...
Can you really handle that much fruition?

Is it greed?
Do you want the whole patch for yourself?
You've already achieved so much ...
proven yourself to the world so much ...

So ... dear Brussels Sprouts, why are you all so damn bitter?
