Hi Hive gardeners,
In our 1 hectare organic veggie garden we discovered this cucumbur in the greenhouse:
We have never seen this before in 10 years. Sure it is a seedling and not a leaf growing out of a cover cell , is it ? What do you think? Should we open it up?
But there was more
We also disturbed a Hazelworm (=Dutch) (Anguis fragilis) but had seen that one before although not 30 cm as this one was.
"Anguis fragilis is a reptile native to Eurasia. It is also called a deaf adder, a slowworm, a blindworm, or regionally, a long-cripple, to distinguish it from the Peloponnese slowworm. These legless lizards are also sometimes called common slowworms."
We do have a video but not a clear picture so I copy a web picture.
What an exciting week so far!
hasta luego
