Humans can always make a plan when it comes to extremely hot weather, but our pets and other creatures have to find water or hope that someone puts out water for them.
Amidst this awful drought that we are experiencing, I have become acutely aware of this and so I make sure that there is some water in the bird bath and in addition to this a small shallow bowl filled with marbles and water for the bees and any other small creatures to prevent them from drowning.
Even the well looked after pets suffer in very hot weather and so it is important to make sure they have access to water and areas of shade where they can cool down.
