Here I am, sitting and fiddling with Steepshot instead of pickaxing the Greywater basin you see in picture # 4. Or 5. Already forgot which one.
To my defense, I got a bit distracted by the screeching of a hawk right by the chicken area. Couldn’t see him. They blend in so well.
My little dog is smarter than she looks. She went right into hiding. I hope the chickens are as smart.
See all the seedlings coming up? The ones next to the strawberry leaves are onions. That I know for sure.
The dense carpet of little seedlings are tatsoi in with the edible cana. By the New Zealand spinach, we have Glover, calendula, and if we are lucky, chard.
The more sparsely scattered seedlings are coming up in the front. Did you see the temps? And the air is bone dry. Combine that with the famous Santa Ana winds and seedlings are at peril.
I am watering several times a day to give them a chance...
Well, I better go and swing that pickax. Running out of excuses not to 🙊
