Since a few days I notice an increased occurrence of fruit flies in my appartment. I am going insane. When I sleep they land on my face or even fly inside my nose. I was about to torch the fucking house. I haave already thrown away all my food because it was contaminated, I now empty my trashcan nearly 3 times a day. When I make food they literally instantly pounce on the food I have made. But no mater what I do, they never disapear. At least I have found their nest. When watering my Ghetto Garden I noticed a bunch of fruit flies fleeing from the soil. So I began digging a little and I noticed larvae. Those motherfuckers...
My question
Does anyone know if those bastards are as harmful for my plants as they are for my nerves?
Well I got myself new soil. This time I got soil for houseplants. I read that soil often is contaminated with fly eggs.

What I did so far
I have set up some traps for that little fuckers. I set up some glasses of water with vinegar and dish soap. Attracted by the vinegar the flies land on the water but the dish soaps will take away the surface tension of the water forcing them to drown misserably. Muahaha...
