Israel doesn't really have what most of you would call "winter". We never get snow and temperatures rarely drop below 10c. This is just one of the reasons I spend quite a bit of time on balcony in the winter.Â

I like to call it "my room". Between woodwork, furniture renovation and just standing there listening to the rain (yes, I am weird), I've also developed a gardening hobby, which took quite a bit of courage. Having always believed I was a serial murderer of plant, I had to take a leap of faith to plant things. So far? I've barely killed any of the plants.Â
My cats, however, are a different story. They like to chew on everything from succulents to mint.
I've been feeling a little under the weather, so on one of the rainy days we had in the past week I took some time to rest and home-grown herbal infusion while watching the rain fall outside my balcony. The drops on the leaves were a perfect excuse to take some photos and show off to you all.
It's important to note that most of the plants on my balcony are not just for looks - they have uses. From treating insect bites and deterring mosquitoes to adding flavor to foods, I like to plant things that aren't just pretty.

I hope to give you more sneak peaks of my garden as I plant more and feel like sharing my gardening accomplishment.
P.S. Photos were not filtered or edited, so all the colors are exactly as my camera captured them. It's an LG v20, in case you're wondering.
