It's the most wonderful time of the year...Comic-Con weekend is upon us fellow geeks! While most of you are probably like me, envious of everyone that is lucky enough to get a ticket, you can still join in on the fun.
One of the most anticipated components of this con in particular are the exclusive panels. The top names in all of nerd culture seem to have a panel at some point during this weekend. I have compiled a short list of television panels that if I were one of the chosen to attend SDCC, would try my darnedest to see. Keep in mind these are not all of the panels, and a complete list can be found here.
Friday
The Walking Dead
Now that we've answered Abraham's question of "Who's Negan?," the next question you should be asking is how they will finally defeat this likable jerk. This zombie apocalypse has already lasted seven seasons, but ratings started to decrease after the first episode of last season. Hopefully some new character introductions and more badass zombie kills will be in the future for Rick and pals.
Rick and Morty
It's been 2 years since season two ended, and fans are more than ready for season 3 to air later this month. Hopefully this show will continue to be a home run for Cartoon Network. Wub a lub a dub dub.
Game of Thrones
It's no surprise this is usually one of the most anticipated panels. Not to mention season 7 premiered earlier this week, and people are losing their damn minds. Winter's been coming since season one, so what will happen now that winter is here?
Preacher
This comic book adaptation provides some uniqueness to your TV watching line up. We're currently in the middle of season 2, so this relatively young series seems to be promising for another epic AMC show.
Saturday
Stranger Things
This hit for Netflix premiered last fall and has gathered quite a following. There are still so many unanswered questions from season 2, and I'm curious to see what happens to our favorite Indiana grade-schoolers dealing with some alternate dimension stuff.
The Magicians
The "Harry Potter for adults" show completed season two earlier this spring after a very successful first season. Quentin and friends had quite an impact of Fillory last season, so I will be interested to see how they overcome the huge problem they face for the future. Add this SyFy show immediately to your watch list if you've overlooked it before now.
Westworld
This Michael Crichton book adaptation about a seriously realistic wild west theme park aired its first season late last year with some plot twists along the way. The last episode left us with some serious cliffhanger action, so any information on season 2 would be great, HBO.
Sunday
Doctor Who
While this will be current Doctor Peter Capaldi's last con as the famous time lord, I'm sure plenty of questions surrounding the casting of the 13th Doctor will be on everyone's mind. Capaldi is expected to make his exit from the role during this year's Christmas special, handing the torch to Jodie Whittaker, the first female to take the role.
