It’s been two months since my last update on the Lobitos land journey, and the change has been dramatic. Seasonal summer rains have passed through, and what was once dry and muted is now unexpectedly green and alive. During this time, I’ve been steadily working the land, slowly but surely putting up wooden eucalyptus posts and marking out the land. There’s something satisfying about the gradual progress, even when it doesn’t feel fast.
This week marked another small but important step: I paid the municipal land taxes. It’s not the most exciting milestone, but it makes everything feel more real and more official. Bit by bit, this project is moving forward, grounded not just in vision, but in consistent action.
