Si hay algo en lo cual una inmensa mayoría coincidimos, es por nuestra devoción al chocolate. Reconocido por sus aportes a la gastronomía, también el chocolate tienen un conjunto de beneficios para la salud que lo hacen un alimento de sumo interés....
Something that fascinates me is to investigate a little about the origins of food, I think that gives a greater cultural dimension to the subject of gastronomy with which all human beings are involved. In the case of chocolate, this invaluable gift to our palate, it seems that its origins are due to the magnificent Mesoamerican cultures, including the Mayan, Toltec and Aztec.
Algo que me fascina es indagar un poco sobre los orígenes de los alimentos, creo que eso le da una dimensión cultural mayor al tema de la gastronomía con el cual todos los seres humanos nos involucramos. En el caso del chocolate, este invaluable regalo a nuestro paladar, al parecer sus orígenes se lo tenemos que agradecer a las magníficas culturas Mesoamericana, entre ellas las Mayas, Toltecas y Aztecas.
According to the legend, the God Quetzalcoatl was the one who gave the cocoa tree to men. According to it, the gift was part of a tribute of love from Quetzalcoatl to his wife as part of the love and fidelity for her demonstrated by not revealing the place where the treasure of the city was hidden, information that her husband had been entrusted.
De acuerdo a la leyenda, el Dios Quetzalcoatl fue quien regaló el árbol de cacao a los hombres. Según ésta, el obsequio fue parte de un tributo de amor de Quetzalcoatl hacia su esposa como parte del amor y la fidelidad por ella demostrada al no develar el lugar que en el cual se hallaba escondido el tesoro de la ciudad, información que su esposo le había sido confiado.
Given the origin of this beautiful legend, it is logical that on Valentine's Day (Valentine's Day), chocolate appears as one of the most common ways of expressing love for one's partner or loved ones.
Dando por cierto el origen de esta hermosa leyenda, se puede entender como lógico que el Día de San Valentín (Día de los enamorados) el chocolate figure como una de las más usuales formas de expresarle el amor a la pareja o nuestros seres queridos.
While I finish preparing a delicious vanilla cake filled and covered with chocolate pudding, which I will show you in a next post, I want to point out that next September 13th is World Chocolate Day. This date was established in the United States to celebrate the birth of the writer Roald Dahl, who became famous for being the author of the classic play "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". We shall see what I can think of to prepare for that date.
Mientras termino de preparar un delicioso ponque de vainilla relleno y cubierto con pudín de chocolate, el cual les voy a mostrar en un próximo post, quiero señalarles que el próximo 13 de septiembre se celebra el Día Mundial del Chocolate. Esta fecha fue establecida en los Estados Unidos para celebrar el nacimiento del escritor Roald Dahl, quien se hiciera célebre por ser el autor de la clásica obra "Charlie y la fábrica de chocolate". Ya veremos para esa fecha que se me ocurre para prepararles.
