"And the love is not that we have loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." 1 John 4:10. It's nice if someone loves me, and I love them in return. It's easy. But it is not a consciousness of love. God loved us before we loved Him, and we did nothing to deserve this love. What if someone misbehaved with me? Where is my love then? Love gives, and not only to those who are good to us. She loves her enemies; she loves first. And she does not disappear even if love never takes revenge. She endures everything.
