My post for #SublimeSunday by
and #beautifulsunday by

I saw a post this week by where he included a lovely photo of a country church and I was reminded of Midwestern churches that I have taken pictures of over the years.
This is a photo of the UU church I belong to. At one time it was a small country school set back in the oak grove. Today they did the service via Zoom.
Most of these churches are in Wisconsin
Built in 1844 in New Diggings,Wisconsin. St. Augustine Church was one of the very early churches built by Father Mazzuchelli in this region. I have been inside this church and saw the hidey hole under the alter where the children could be hidden away in times of danger.
This is a tiny Chapel in a cemetery. I am always surprised to find these places unlocked and welcoming.
Photos taken on various roadtrips
Bayfield, wisconsin
Shullsburg, Wisconsin.
I'll end with this little Chapel that is in my town in the cemetery just across the river from my house.
Hope you enjoyed the photo tour! Stay safe!
