I'm experimenting with posting some random bits of my genealogy research here. This individual was born circa 1567 which is definitely going pretty far back. Typically, assuming you are dealing with accurate data, if you get back this far you probably have some distant relation to royalty. The notes below are for this individual's father.
You'll also find with relatives this far back that you are probably related in multiple ways. The closest relationship I have to this individual (according to Gramps) is seventh cousin thirteen times removed though there are other cousin relationships.
