I recommend just following people who interest you and writing comments. Don't feel like you have to write great articles to be a valuable part of what's going on here. Steemit needs people who read, upvote and comment.

I've learned so much since joining Steemit about six months ago. I think it's been life changing for me. Most of that has been due to what I've learned from reading other people's writing and then putting what i've learned into practice.
