Nobody want to be told NO!!! But let’s face it, that’s why it’s so Paramount to align your spending wth your values to be legit, it doesn’t always have to be a NO.
I live in a city of G boys, where temptations to spend your even your convocation dues lavishly, recklessly and carelessly ranges from $15
Instead of approaching our financial lives as a practice of constant self sacrifice centered on how and where we shouldn’t spend , we should shift our attention to creating spaces in our financial lives to spend on the things we truly value
With the little gathered experience, here’s how you can line up your spending with your values.
- Identification of your present relatively important items
Maybe you want to purchase a new car, spend time with loved one’s or family, analyze how you want it to go, whatever’s central to you is what should inform the approach you take to your finances - Put in to practice the system that support your plan
Once you’ve figured out your values enacting budget can help ground them are keep them at the forefront of your day to day decision making so don’t impress in face of momentary temptations or temporary convenience - Consider and reassess
Reflect on your cost each month, as you generate more mindfulness around your financial behavior, you’ll become better at cutting out unimportant expenses. Financial planning is not a practice of self deprivation, it is an intentional approach or process to making daily spending decisions that relate to our big picture. The pretty part of it? We each get to define what that picture look like.
