As I mentioned, I am posting some more cool micro-crystals I photographed from our new stereo scope.
This is a conicalcite on limonite specimen.
The clear calcite crystals are rather large but the intriguing feature is the conicalcite under the larger calcite. It gives sort of a green iridescence to the piece.
here we see some of the larger conicalcite crystals. They don't a lot of structure but a slight cleavage.
Here we see some tiny delicate crystal peeking out from under the larger calcite crystals
These are two Zincite crystals. They are a byproduct of manufacturing and are a rare occurrence
To the naked eye the crystals look green but under the scope it's a whole different hue.
I'm having fun exploring things you don't see 20/20. As long as there is still interest, I will continue to post what I find.
